Netflix is awesome, especially because I can stream "instant-play" movies through my 7Mb DSL connection.
I didn't realize that so many more people still use cable, but that doesn't change the underlying principle that you discuss here. Just because many of us have become accustomed to receiving satellite TV doesn't make it a right. If "DishDirect" were to become such a hot item that they felt they could skyrocket their prices, it wouldn't be too long before people found other alternatives.
I say, FCC get out of the way, and let them see if together they can provide a better service.
