Immigration Is Good for the Economy 1

These comments made yesterday have prompted me to write a series of blog posts. I only hope that zeezil or other commentators decide to respond to my specific points instead of pasting cookie cutter commentary.

  • right on! immigrants, who come here legally, usually want to become part of this country and assimilate into it, not harm it. They are a great source for new consumers. They will help us out of this bad economy and of the expected shortage of workers many predict because of lowered fertility rates in this country. They are the workers who help fund social security for people who are retiring now. Giving them a chance to live here legally will help them not live in fear anymore and will help us because they will contribute to our economy by paying more taxes because they will be legal!!

    However, your hope that zeezil will respond authentically, rather than cut-n-paste commentary from other sources may be misplaced. My experience with this issue convinces me that most immigration opponents are incapable of genuine dialog.
