  • Thanks for highlighting my comment on EUreferendum.

I just want to point out that Dr North's and Dr Szamuely's blog contains much more than just a simple description of the "dual international quasi-legislation/commitology mechanism" (Diqule). In fact the blog is replete with footprints, droppings, a number of carcasses and even a few live samples of the Diqule, all of which makes it impossible to doubt the existence of this species.

As its natural habitat is the bureaucratic undergrowth and therefore it is seldom observed in daylight it may well have been thought - by those poor souls who ponder these issues - that the Diqule is a species threatened by extinction. In fact thanks to the intrepid investigators at EUreferendum and other blogs we now know that the Diqule is going through an exponential growth phase.

    Definitely reason to be aware.
  • It has become clear that supra-national organisations – the “transies”- are tools for democracy by-pass.

As we are learning in the UK, it takes decades, but once this cancer has taken hold, it spreads throughout the body politic. For us, if we ever seek treatment, eradication will be traumatic. The advice to “ be afraid” is sound. But what is the appropriate action ? Objections on a case-by-case basis will only delay the occasional high-profile incidence – which is normally re-packaged and re-introduced a few years later. A Constitutional amendment to outlaw the practice ?
