When people break laws moral and civil, you naturally have the results of CHAOS!

Re: Republican Study Commitee plan now best viable alternative

sad.

It's a bot: who the heck brought up democracy?

Re: Republican Study Commitee plan now best viable alternative

What would you know about socialism? You don't even seem to know what democracy is. Are you telling me you're reading all these blogs and rarely commenting. Do I bug you? Are you telling me I'm not welcome here? Do you own this blog? Bite me.

Re: Republican Study Commitee plan now best viable alternative

Is Nancyf a socialist bot who comments on every post?

The problem is not the bad housing stock. The problem is that if the borrower defaults, then the bank is stuck with an illiquid asset: the house. A government insurance policy would use the house as collateral: if the owner defaults, the government would buy the house from the lender and then sell it.

It would get the money from the premiums paid by lenders eager to cover their oversized risk.

Re: Republican Study Commitee plan now best viable alternative

So. Explain to us how they were making money on bad stock and we can evaluate your column. How do you make money on bad mortgages? And who would own the property if re-possessed?
